MTEST is a dynamic testing facility, accredited to UKAS ISO 17025, operating the largest commercially available Seattle Safety ServoSled testing facility in the UK. The state-of-the-art 407m² laboratory features a highly accurate 30-metre servo-hydraulic sled system, advanced data acquisition equipment, instrumented anthropomorphic test devices (ATDs), and high-speed video analysis capabilities.
Dedicated to advancing passenger safety, MTEST provides testing support across the emergency services, mobility, aerospace, automotive, rail, defence, and motorsport sectors. Its advanced facilities enable customers to validate product performance under real-world crash conditions, reduce programme lead times and bring safer products to market with confidence.
For the emergency services sector, MTEST offers comprehensive dynamic testing to BS EN 1789:2020 Paragraph 5.3, supporting ambulance manufacturers, vehicle converters, and equipment suppliers in demonstrating compliance with ambulance safety requirements.
Dynamic 10g testing can be performed in the mandated orientations to assess the retention and fixation of medical devices, storage systems, stretchers, seating, and other equipment installed within ambulance patient compartments.
MTEST also provides specialist testing for wheelchair transportation safety, including:
- ISO 7176-19:2022 – Wheelchairs for use as seats in motor vehicles.
- BS ISO 10542-1:2012+A1:2021 – Wheelchair Tiedown and Occupant Restraint Systems (WTORS).
These dynamic tests assess the crashworthiness of wheelchairs, tiedown systems, and occupant restraints using industry-recognised impact pulses and test dummies, helping manufacturers demonstrate compliance and improve end-user safety.
